Hello! I am an Assistant Professor of Sociology and the Co-director of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Georgia Southwestern State University. I got my Ph.D. in Sociology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. As a qualitative researcher, I employ feminist epistemology to unearth the structural inequalities that lead to social injustices, especially in the workplace. Specifically, I study how gender, race, and ethnic background affect the immigrant work experience.
I moved to the U.S. in 2011 to pursue my graduate studies. Prior to shifting continents, I spent 26 years in Kolkata, India, where I was born and raised.
